Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman considers it necessary to launch professional article-by-article examination of the Law of Ukraine on electronic system of declaration and promulgation of officials' income declarations to prevent any further political speculations.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this on the 112 Ukraina TV channel on Thursday.
According to Groysman, "experts have to examine each article" of the draft law No. 3755 "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On preventing corruption" (as to e-declaration system) "to find its weak points and to improve them. I believe it will be possible."
Groysman noted that political speculations emerging about this Law will be removed by a professional article-based-article analysis. "In this issue, I trust the Europeans, I trust our experts as they can openly say what is really in line with respective directive of the European Union and what is not. Then all the speculations will be put aside," he said.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that prior to the adoption of the Law, several meetings had taken place and their participants pointed out a compromising wording that was in line with all requirements.
Commenting on the President of Ukraine's signature of the three Laws touching the visa-free regime with the European Union, Groysman noted that Ukraine had fully implemented all the requirements aimed at adoption of the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan for Ukraine. Besides, those laws are "a high-quality instrument to fight corruption," Groysman said.
According to the Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament, prior to the introduction of the visa-free regime with the EU the authorities still have to tackle one "technical issue" — the launch of the National Anticorruption Agency by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"I do count on introduction of the visa-free regime this year, I do hope that the Ukrainians will receive this chance to ruin that "iron curtain" between us and the European family," Groysman said.
